The X-Files
It will all happen on December 22, 2012. Don't say that you haven't been warned.
The question everybody wants to know is what did President Bush know, and when did he know it. The Commander-in-Chief has been taking heat since it came out that the government had information that Osama bin Laden's terror network was planning a hijacking, and that one agent speculated that a terrorist might fly a plane into a building. Another passed along a memo of concern that so many Arab men were taking flight training.
The date that I've given above is the date that aliens will take over the Earth. At least that's what we learned last Sunday on the last episode of The X Files .
This would in fact, explain a lot. Like why agents weren't doing more to investigate suspicious characters. Sure, news of potential terrorist attacks is pretty important, but pales in comparison the idea of humans being enslaved by an alien race.
Osama bin Laden is a very dangerous character, but is no match for Zorg the Merciless of the invading army. OK, the show didn't give specific names, but I've watched enough science fiction movies to know that there's always a Zorg the Merciless or some other evil sounding-named character. Star Trek was always big on that. Whenever citing nefarious historical characters they'd always name two actual ones from Earth history, and one fictional one from our supposed future.
Captains Kirk or Picard would say something like,
"There have always been despots throughout the history of the galaxy. Ghengis Khan, Adolph Hitler, or Nerelious the Horrible from Rigel 7."
Sorry, I'm digressing as usual.
Apparently, from what I've seen on the show, FBI agents have been spending a good deal of their time investigating the paranormal. I guess the thinking is to leave the terrorist stuff to border guards and low paid airline security screeners while the FBI uses it's manpower to check out the guy who can scale walls like a salamander.
Of course during the Clinton years some 200 FBI agents were used to investigate his amorous activity as his opponents tried desperately to bring him down, and one could argue that they could've been put to better use focusing on the alien problem, or at the very least terrorist activity.
According to the show, if I understand it correctly, aliens have inhabited the Earth for some 2000 years, and apparently have made plans to colonize the planet. Some higher ups in the government have known this and have struck a deal with the aliens to work with them and be spared. It was not specified if these government officials will get a 401K plan as part of the deal.
The alien invasion has been set for December 22, 2012, apparently so the aliens can get in a little last minute Christmas shopping when they arrive.
No mention was made of why it would take the aliens another ten years for the invasion, but I can only speculate that they'll need time to cancel the newspaper, leave a forwarding address and make sure the electricity is turned off.
Nor was it discussed as to what's so horrible about their planet that they feel compelled to take over ours, but I suspect it may have something to do with difficult labor relations.
We may not learn what our government knew, but we know when the aliens are coming. The truth is out there. You've been warned.
